WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY

I have more self-confidence about my creativity and that I can just try out things

During the workshop I experienced the peace within me (like I didn't know anymore where I was, a bit the feeling of meditation), the surprise feeling that I could make something beautiful with no prior skills/experience. Now I have more self-confidence about my creativity and that I can just try out things. It extends to many aspects of my life, from choosing clothes, to make-up, to how I would like the new kitchen to be.

Watercolor experience with Suzanne taught me that I can also embrace more alpha activities having so much fun and plenty of benefits

This was my first watercolor experience and I appreciated the fact that, included in the price, I could bring home the tools for continuing my watercolor journey.  The second thing I remember was the joy of painting my first rose. Thanks to Suzanne explanation, it came so natural and so expectedly! Since the workshop, I did start to embrace artistic activities which I never considered before. I always thought (and still think) that I have a beta personality and skills. Watercolor experience with Suzanne taught me that I can also embrace more alpha activities having so much fun and plenty of benefits.

I find it surprising what you can paint already with only little experience!

The workshop is a real crash course: You learn the basic techniques that allows you to experiment at home with what you have learned. I find it surprising what you can paint already with only little experience!"

I’ve learned more from this crash course than from an 8-week watercolor course that has cost me more money AND time

Everything was discussed and there was plenty of time for exercises. A personal interpretation of the exercises was always encouraged, which created a pleasant atmosphere and motivated people to express themselves creatively. The workshop gave me a good taste to make me want to experiment and learn more on my own afterward

The pacing was very good for an intro, taking us through many necessary points quickly (so I can go play with more later). I especially appreciated the time taken for how to use the brush, how to achieve different color saturation, and use of water. The workshop gave me a good taste to make me want to experiment and learn more on my own afterward. Learning how watercolors behave was really different (and exciting) from what I'd assumed.

Everyone had the same task, but created different results

The workshop allowed in a short time to learn the essentials / basics, as well as to express your own creativity (i.e. everyone had the same task, but created different results)

Watercoloring, among other things I did, helped me to soften, create something out of nothing, and just be

I remember the feeling that watercoloring brought to me, presence and stillness, while discovering more creativity within, and feeling of accomplishment once my first painting was done. Watercoloring for me was one of many things I did to discover my creative side. I was always busy with logic and numbers and have put aside the creative part of my personality. Watercoloring, among other things I did, helped me to soften, create something out of nothing, and just be.

Definitely! Most of the participants of the Watercolor Beginners Crash Course don’t have experience with drawing or painting and this is not needed, because everyone can watercolor! You will be guided through all the basics and you cannot do it ‘wrong’, so you don’t have to be afraid. Just take that step out of your comfort zone and try something new! Like Henri Matisse says: “Creativity takes courage”.

With a group of at least 5 people I also give private workshops (possibly on location). Think of a birthday party, bachelorette party, etc. Get in touch through workshops@creativithee.com

Watercolor is soothing, you can properly empty your head during watercoloring. In addition, you ‘create’ something tangible, which often gives a satisfactory and proud feeling. You also learn to let go of perfectionism with watercolor (‘overwork’ your painting often makes it less beautiful, you will have to ‘let go’ as much as possible and let the water and pigment do their work) and the best thing is that a watercolor painting doesn’t have to be perfect, the end result is often very different than you might think. Also a plus with watercolor: it is very compact, you need little space!

If you follow the Watercolor Beginners Crash Course, a watercolor starter kit is included. The starter kit consists of a palette with professional quality paint from Winsor & Newton, a Princeton brush (size 6) and a block of watercolor paper, 300gsm from the brand Fabriano. The set has been carefully composed based on the best materials to have a kickstart with watercolor, which you will enjoy for a long time.
